Airy3D, a computer vision company based out of Montreal, recently announced it closed a series A funding round for $10M. The company is developing DepthIQ, a technology that takes multiple 2D images and fuses them together to create depth data. This technology is interesting because it doesn’t require expensive depth sensing hardware to generate the depth map. Airy3D envisions DepthIQ as key technology for applications such as face recognition, hand gesture and object detection.
